Saints hope to continue hot streak against Philippines Baseball Group
PASADENA, CA - After earning their first shutout of the season, the Saints (12-16) will be facing the Philippines Baseball Group (0-19), looking to get a win and match their season-high win streak of 3.
Last night's game against the Conejo Oaks (17-10) perfectly showcased how the Saints have performed in July, with solid defense and timely hitting.
Starting pitcher Joe O'Regan (Undecided) completed six innings, giving up 3 hits and striking out 5 batters.
The Saints scored the majority of their runs in the first inning with a Sean Asperger (Undecided) double, a Carson Panarisi (Cal State Los Angeles) RBI, and a Canon King (Undecided) single.
King also had a double in the fifth to bring in Asperger and seal the Saints' victory 4-0.
The closer, Oscar Salazar (Undecided), pitched the remainder of the game, striking out 4 batters and allowing 2 hits.
Salazar shared that last night's game was his last with the Saints and that he will be cutting his summer short due to family plans.
However, the Saints will be looking forward to making their push for the playoffs, making progress towards moving up in the standings.
The Saints' last game against the PBG was a thrilling 13-12 win, and tonight's game against the PBG will really set the tone for the rest of the month.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 with streaming available on the Arroyo Seco Saints YouTube channel.
