Academy Barons
COMPTON, CA – The Arroyo Seco Saints (5-9) are on the road to play the Academy Barons (7-7) on Wednesday, June 24 at the MLB Urban Youth Academy.
This will be the third time these two teams go head-to-head this season; both teams have won a competitive game. Seeking a winning season record, the Barons will look to be extra aggressive at the plate today.
Last night, the Saints defeated the Bombers 9-1 behind Edwin Segovia's (Azusa Pacific University) strong pitching performance. Segovia pitched five innings, only allowing the Bombers one run.
On Tuesday, the Bombers had seven hits. The Saints allowed only one run thanks to incredible defensive plays, especially by second baseman Bryce Robinette (Undecided).
In both games these teams have played against each other, the Barons have scored two runs in the first inning. Starting pitcher for the Saints, Wyatt Toth (Undecided), will look to deny the Barons any early run opportunities.
Tune in to watch tonight's first pitch at 6:05 p.m. on the Saints' YouTube channel.
