PASADENA, CA - The Arroyo Seco Saints (15-18) are looking to keep their post season hopes alive tonight against the Santa Maria Indians (1-9).

 

After their win against the OC Riptide (25-15), the Saints are now three games removed from a playoff spot and will have to win the remainder of their games to squeeze into the wildcard game.

 

The Saints were able to storm back in the eighth inning against the Riptide, scoring 6 runs to take the lead. 

 

The Saints started their rally in a bases loaded opportunity, scoring their first run on a walk.  A string of singles from Brody Chyr (University of Nebraska), Brayden Flores (Loyola Marymount University) and Evan Reiter (Santa Ana College) tied the game.

 

Then, Sean Asperger (Undecided) hit a sac fly to take the lead followed by a Brandon Nguyen (Undecided) single to make the score 6-4. 

 

Zach Bender (Loyola Marymount University) was able to hold the Riptide to 4 to secure the win for the Saints after their big eighth inning.

 

The Saints look to put their best foot forward and secure a win tonight against the Indians.
