Rematch after walkoff victory
Saints stood victorious against the Crawdads defeating them 7-6 in walk-off fashion last night.
PASADENA, CA- Last night, the Arroyo Seco Saints (8-15) stood victorious against the Walnut Creek Crawdads (18-6), defeating them 7-6 in walk-off fashion.
Andrew Miller (Azusa Pacific University) led the Saints with three innings of dominant pitching.
In last night's postgame interview, Miller shared that he would have liked to be more in the zone, but "was able to get the job done, so couldn't complain."
All season, the Saints have been practicing the sacrifice bunt situation, and last night that is what helped advance the game winning runner in the tenth inning.
Newcomer Brody Chyr (University of Nebraska) shined in his first start as a Saint. Chyr went 2-4 with a single and a double.
This win was huge for the Saints, and they hope to continue this momentum into today's game.
Today, the Saints look to rematch the Crawdads and take the series. On the road, the Crawdads are 6-3 while the Saints are 3-5.
Last season, the Saints faced the Crawdads once, with Walnut Creek winning 16-4. This will be the last time they see each other this season.
In the CCL standings, Arroyo Seco is in sixth place in the Southern division while Walnut Creek is in second place in the Northern Division.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Field and can be watched live through the Arroyo Seco Saints YouTube channel.
