Academy Barons
PASADENA, CA – The Arroyo Seco Saints (6-13) face the Academy Barons (11-8) for the fourth time this season at 5:35 p.m. on July 1 at Jackie Robinson Memorial Field.
Currently, the Barons are ranked fourth in the Southern CCL division, and the Saints are ranked sixth. The Saints are 1-2 against the Barons; they look to even the score tonight.
Last night, the Saints were beaten by the number one-ranked Santa Barbara Foresters, 22-2. The Saints unfortunately had three defensive errors – mistakes they have not made in two weeks. The Saints will look to clean up their defense and stay aggressive at the plate.
Yesterday, Brayden Flores (Loyola Marymount University), Jacob Freer (Santa Clara University), Zach Leite (Old Dominion University), and Joe O'Regan (Undecided) were all nominated for the CCL All-Star team. This Saturday, July 4th, these players will have the opportunity to play in Reno, Nevada.
The Saints' pitching struggled against the Foresters; however, pitcher Edwin Segovia (Azusa Pacific University) seeks a strong start to tonight's game.
Tune in at 5:35 p.m. on our Saints' YouTube to watch the first pitch.
