VENTURA, CA - The Arroyo Seco Saints (2-5) are set to face the Conejo Oaks (4-2) for the first time this season on Sunday afternoon at Ventura College.
After losing to the Orange County Riptide for the second time this season Saturday night, the Saints are looking to get a win on the road to finish off the week on a positive note. The last time these two teams faced off was in the 2025 South Division Championship, where the Saints lost 3-1.
This is only the second time the Saints have been on the road this season, with their first road game being a win over the Academy Barons at the MLB Urban Youth Academy on June 6.
Last night in Pasadena, RHP Joe O'Regan (Undecided) described the team's loss as a snowball effect of miscues and untimely hitting.
After O'Regan's strong outing, in which he gave up only four hits and two runs in six innings, the Saints struggled in the box to capitalize on bases-loaded opportunities. This led to the Saints being shut out until scoring a pair of runs in the eighth and ninth innings.
The Oaks, however, have climbed to third in the South Division; they last faced the San Diego Bombers on Saturday, winning 16-3. Similarly, the Saints earned their second win of the season against the Bombers with a score of 16-9.
The Saints left 10 runners on base against the Riptide, seven of them being from walks. Evan Reiter (Santa Ana College) led the Saints with three hits and one RBI.
Although the Saints had seven hits, they aim to live up to their gritty nature and get more runs on the board.
First pitch is at 1 p.m. with streaming available on the Saints' YouTube channel.
