PASADENA, CA – The Arroyo Seco Saints (2-3) face the Academy Barons (2-3) for the second time this season with home-field advantage on Friday, June 12th, at Jackie Robinson Memorial Field.
The Saints are coming off a two-game losing streak, while the Academy Barons earned their second win against the Philippines Baseball Group on Wednesday. Both teams aim to reach a 3-3 record and work toward a winning season.
The Saints continue to connect as a team, and going forward into today's game, coach Fred Pudrith said he wants a win for his players.
The Saints had three errors in their most recent game against the Santa Barbara Foresters. Starting pitcher Zach Bender said the team is going back to the basics and striving to "focus on throwing strikes, scoring runs [and] playing gritty."
While on a losing streak, the Saints will have confidence as they beat the Barons in a close battle, winning 6-5, the last time these two teams met.
Today's first pitch will be thrown at 5:35 p.m. Tune into the game on the Saints' YouTube Channel.
