Organization & Internship Background
The Arroyo Seco Saints, a certified 501(c)3 non-profit organization, attracts elite college players, coaches, and college students seeking to gain experience in the sports industry to the greater Los Angeles area for the months of June and July. A proud member of the California Collegiate League and entering its 19th season of operation, the Saints strive to provide the finest collegiate summer baseball experience in the nation.

Learn by doing! The Design & Drafting Intern will be a key player in advancing our mission. You will spend your time gaining valuable experience drafting plans and layouts of an athletic facility tied to the Rose Bowl in the Registry of National Historic Landmarks.  Your work will be used for capital projects for the stadium and for the on-going business activities of the Arroyo Seco Saints.  Build your resume and career portfolio, and learning through mentoring, networking, and training.  One of your program mentors will an engineer with 20 years’ experience in the Design & Drafting industry.

Location
• The Arroyo Seco Saints are based in Pasadena, CA
• This position is not location dependent and will not necessarily coincide with the season of sport

CAD Desgin & Drafting Responsibilities
• Produce CAD drawings of existing facilities
• Produce CAD drawings of conceptual facility upgrades and improvements
• Provide input and design layouts of capital improvement concepts
• Support on-going business activities with site maps and event layout concepts
• Support fundraising activities by providing design layouts for grant submissions
• Report to Manager for special projects throughout the season
• Other duties as assigned

 Requirements
• Pursuing or completed an undergraduate degree in a related major
• Pursuing or completed an undergraduate degree in a related major
• Knowledge of AutoCAD software
• Basic ability to convert aerial maps to design layouts
• Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in a ‘project’ setting
• A team player with a “get it done” work ethic.
• Upbeat and friendly attitude.
• Work proactively and possess strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills. Self-motivated and detail oriented.
• Comfortable working in groups. Interact with Saints front office members, coaches, players, staff, and staff from opposing organizations, the California Collegiate League, and more.

 Time Commitments
Starting dates vary for our different internships. With the Design & Drafting Intern, we are looking for someone who can begin in January and work throughout the semester, maybe briefly into the summer.  It is required that the applicant has flexibility and ability to complete a variety of tasks throughout this time period.  Local, in-person is not necessary, but will help to see the facility in person. Remote work is OK, and we will work with the right candidate, considering a large portion of this internship can be completed remotely.
